Avatar = The Best of 2009

James Cameron's Avatar was released on the 17th of December and to me is really one of most interesting and memorable movies this whole year. It has everything in it from Adventure, Aliens, Action, Love, Biodiversity and features moralistic themes concerning nature's importance in life ( Gaia theory expanded), human's insatiable greed for the ever elusive profit no matter the cost, the acceptance of another culture or in this case the Na'Vi, and militaristic themes similar to our current world America which prefers military action than diplomacy. There was a quote in the movie where SecFor's Colonel Miles Quaritch (the antagonist) said "Fight terror with terror" sounds familiar?.


According to Aaron, how can anyone not fall in love with the Na'Vi?, they walk around in the 2 hours and 30 minutes movie dressed in nothing but strips of cloth. I guess Aaron was more interested in Neytiri, a princess of the Na'vi tribe than the breath taking scenery which is seriously so real (Fun fact: the movie was estimated to have cost around 200 to 300 million or more)

The promo pictures for the movie featuring the colorful forest of Pandora which has its roots in 1990 when the film was first thought of. (Fun Fact In December 2006, Cameron explained that the delay in producing the film since the 1990s had been to wait until the technology necessary to create his project was advanced enough,to create Avatar at that time was near impossible as it would need hundreds of millions)


A Samson (i think thats the name) helicopter landing in the lush and dangerous jungles of pandora.There was even a tie in movie game made by ubisoft for all platforms using the same technology as the film to be displayed in stereoscopic 3D. The graphics are as breathtaking and surreal as the movie but apparently according to most gamers the story is bland and linear, so i guess this game is only for those interested in seeing more of avatar's world, Pandora.

Looks realistically like the movie. The gamer has the choice of choosing the side of the marines (humans or in this case the marines Armoured Suit) or the Na'Vi who fights the marines to protect their land with spears, bows, and arrows (seems weird to have primitive weapons fighting with armored suits, machine guns and armed to the teeth helicopters)

Two Thumbs and toes up for James's Cameron Avatar which is his first film in over a decade but yet still manages to capture the heart of the audience. (Fun fact:James Cameron's Titanic still holds the all-time box-office champ) For those who haven't watch it yet i highly recommend it but seriously go to the toilet before going into the cinema because you won't want to leave your seat once the movie's magical enchantment works on you keeping yours eyes glued to see more. A word of caution though most people will probably get bored in the beginning and put off by the long winded show, so be patient and you won't regret it.

THE BURGER SHOP SS15

This is the SS15 Burger Shop..WTF OMG..
You will never find burger like this anywhere else..and I really mean NOWHERE ELSE!!!Lol..
Why do I say that??


Have a look at the menu...this is not including the special Oblong burger menu..Well its was one of the days when I was studying at college for my exam 7 days a week 12 hours a day..we were all bored of the food they sold at medan or anywhere within the proximity of medan and sunway college..We decided to drive all the way to SS15 which is not that far but considering we will be wasting PRECIOUS PRECIOUS studying time its quite a big deal for us..lol..We went to the burger shop for 2 days straight..on the 1st day we bought normal lame unspecial burger..but it taste so goooooodddd!!!..and we were talking bout how big the burger was even when its only double special..so we ask the Kakak if we can have a more SPECIAL type and she said we could..So what is so SPECIAL about SPECIAL??
First we have the QUADRUPLE SPECIAL CHEESE AYAM ( RM7.80)..its four layer of chicken burger patties egg and cheese..I know it makes your mouth all watery doesn't it..LOL.The Kakak had a really hard time pushing and fitting it into the Styrofoam box..if you don't think it is possible to fit into your mouth believe me it can be done..1st you have to have solid hands, 2nd you must not mind of sauce all over your hand and 3rd you must not let other people see you eating it especially girls(they would think you are gross)This one I personally named it THE ULTRA KILL BURGER..
Second is what I had..it was AWESOME!!..its called TRIPLE SPECIAL MIX BURGER (RM6.80-if im remember correctly)(no cheese)..Its a combination of chicken fish n beef patties with egg..boy was it GOOOOODDDDDD...3 sensation in your mouth all at the same time..sounds wrong but tasty..This one I named 1MALAYSIA UNITY BURGER..representing the 3 races..but too bad no pork..lol
Third we have the TRIPLE OBLONG SPECIAL(RM9+)..this one is quite expensive because its the signature burger..its a combination of 3 beef patties and other oblong stuff inside..this one is a little tricky to eat and handled with..i have some really disgusting and gross pics of my friend eating this but due to the sensitivity of the content and the negative image portrayal I decided to exclude it from this post..I named this one THE ALL BLACK SUPERSTAR BURGER..(not a racist thing)


So anyone feeling hungry now??



Coming up is Bachelor No. 3 SOO FOOOOOOK SIANG as promised..but it will take me some time..be patient ok..

Best X-dest Weird Cars Award...

Here at X-dest we like doing things with stuff that was'nt made to do it that way..In this case it will be our cars...they are not made for surfing (can't show any pics or vids as its illegal), Sitting in the boot, Human decorations for the car's hood in front while driving, pushing the car on neutral just to see how far it will go and the list goes on and on...In the end we tried something new which we always liked...squeezing the most people in the car or as the "Great Ylo" would say "We Likey Tight Spots"...

2nd Runner Up: Marcus's Honda CRV

This was on Monday when the sick,sneezing,coughing marcus who wanted to kidnapped everyone in his Honda CRV (sorry couldn't find the exact car pic)...so we had to use our X-dest "Imagination" to fit 8 people in the car...In the end me and ylo who always liked doing things out of the ordinary sat at the back enjoying the bumpy ride thanks to our crazy driver who don't brake at bumps BUT SPEEDS UP to go over them...

1st Runner Up : My (Fs) Perodua Kelisa

This was yesterday, after enjoying our drink and playing battlefield 2 some of them were lazy to walk to their car somewhere in front A.C so all of them sat in my car...Yes Its A Kelisa Which Really Could Fit 7 People...Amazing right but then my car sadly couldn't win this award...Sidenote: Aaron one person in front made my car tilt more towards the left, exams has made him kinda "rounder"...

The winner!! Aaron's Myvi whose record has lasted for years, around in 2007 X-dest having too much free time tried sitting 9 people in his car and it succeeded albeit Aaron's car engine was showing the strain and his tyres was kinda low...But then again it was fun and tight...very tight just the way "Great Ylo" likes it...the pictures show the order we were in...(based on memory which is probably wrong)...

'MOTION redefines the paradigms of the supercar with unprecedented performance, style, exclusivity, safety and efficiency’ is how Kepler Motors starts off the description of a unique supercar which it will be unveiling at the Dubai Motorshow tomorrow. Developed from the ground up, it incorporates a number of leading edge technologies such as active suspension, active aerodynamics, launch control and a programmable track assistant system. Among its many unique features are the all-wheel drive Dual Powertrain Technology (DPT) which provides a combined output of 800 bhp. About 70% (550 bhp) of that output comes from a modified petrol-fuelled Ford EcoBoost 3.5-litre V6 (with twin turbos) which drives the rear wheels and the remainder of 250 bhp comes from an electric motor (using lithium-ion batteries) that drives the front wheels. This unique AWD system is claimed to launch the MOTION from 0 to 60 mph (96.5 km/h) under 2.5 seconds with a top speed over 320 km/h. The MOTION uses StopTech's new Continuous Carbon Ceramic (C3) AeroRotors on all four wheels to ensure smooth, fade-free stopping power. Comprising silicon carbide ceramic material reinforced with long, continuous carbon fibres, the unique C3 brake rotor material offers greater mechanical durability and unique heat transfer capabilities when compared to competitive carbon-ceramic rotors. Keeping weight as low as possible is key to high performance and efficiency so the MOTION is built with extensive use of carbon fibre composite materials for its monocoque chassis and body. The light, strong and highly impact-resistant structure provides a two-seat cabin designed to accommodate drivers of above average size in a stylish, sophisticated and aerodynamically efficient design. Kepler Motors states that only 50 units of this unique car will be offered for sale, with deliveries starting in 2011. Presumably they will be taking orders from tomorrow and hope to accumulate enough money to start buying the parts to build the cars. The company is based in California and while it does not seem to have any background of making cars but the team has credentials that would suggest it knows what high performance automobiles are all about. For example, Russ Wicks, the founder, is the only living person to hold world speed records over 320 km/h on land and water. Another member, Neil Hannemann (Program Manager) was the Engineering Director of McLaren Automotive while Derk Hartland (Engineering Director) was the Engineering Design Manager on Saleen S7 production and race car.
